Seattle School District

Seattle Public Schools is the largest school district in the state of Washington with 108 K-12 schools, a culturally diverse student body, and 82 percent graduation rate. With a dozen international and dual-language immersion schools combined, the district offers its students curriculum opportunities that not only prepare them to succeed in the 21st century but broaden their global perspective as well.

Popular school ranking site, niche.com, rates Seattle Public Schools as an above average school district, earning a B+ grade. If private schools are in order, Seattle has several to choose from: Lakeside School, The Bush School, The Northwest School, Seattle Academy University Prep, Seattle Preparatory School, Holy Names Academy, King’s School, Bishop Blanchet High School, Seattle Waldorf School, and O’Dea High School top the list.

Seattle is home to several college campuses of varying sizes, both public and private institutions. The largest in the state, located just north of downtown in what’s known as the “U district,” is the University of Washington. Other notable four year schools are Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, and the Seattle Colleges (Central, North, South, Vocational). Seattle also hosts a plethora of trade schools for special interests such as cosmetology, film, art, culinary arts, technology, design, holistic wellness, medicine, theology and more.
