Bellevue School District

Bellevue School District has 16 elementary schools, one Spanish immersion elementary school, one Mandarin dual-language elementary school, five middle schools, four high schools and two choice schools. It’s known fro a diverse student population with more than 80 languages spoken within its district boundary, and thirty-six percent of students whose first language is something other than English. 

The school district is rich in resources and programs fro parents and children alike, so every need is capable of being met. Bellevue proudly shares on its district page that hundreds of its teachers are National Board-certified, more than any other district in the state. More than 75 percent of its teachers hold master’s degree. School ranking site, niche.com, takes into account many factors when it grades a school district and BSD was awarded A+.

Bellevue is also known for some top-rated private schools that attract families outside its city limits. Well-known schools include Bellevue Christian, Eastside Christian, and Bellevue Children’s Academy. Other private institutions to note are Eton School, St. Madeleine Sophie School, Eastside Community School, Medina Academy, Hillside Student Community School, Open Window School, Emerald Heights Academy, French Immersion School of Washington, The Jewish Day School, and St. Louise Parish School.

Bellevue is home to the third largest institution of higher learning in Washington State. Bellevue College is conveniently located just five miles from downtown Bellevue and ten miles from downtown Seattle. It’s a choice two or four year college for local students seeking an associate, Bachelor’s or technical degree. Other programs include running start for high school students, continuing education course for all ages, online courses, travel abroad opportunities, and parent education classes, to name a few.
