Lake Washington School District

Lake Washington School District serves about 300,000 students at 33 elementary schools, 13 middle schools, and 9 high schools, with more under development of undergoing improvement. Lake Washington is the public school district for Redmond, Kirkland, about half of Sammamish, and some north end residents in Bothell and Woodinville.

With top-notch resources and education opportunities available at Lake Washington schools, 84 percent of graduates enter a two or four year college after high school — with higher SAT scores than the national average. LWSD is also very connected to the community, boasting nearly 16,000 parent, student and community member volunteers in its schools. It’s no surprise with so much support, LWSD earned an A grade from school ranking site niche.com.

Private schools in Redmond include The Bear Creek School, Spectrum Academy, Willows Preparatory School, Brightmont Academy, The Overlake School, Faith Lutheran School, Eaton Arrowsmith Redmond, and more. You’ll find some popular private school options in neighboring Bellevue as well.
